The French Chef
mookandleg’s movies in the backyard. grilling with Citizen Kane. and pre-feature warm-up: Growin’ a Beard.
this is just a test.
26 April. no food for you. we’ll be in boston. maybe when we return it will finally be warm enough for barbeque!
bring salad. It’s the pre-summer cookout warm-up. bring some sort of salad you’d bring for a summer bbq. we’ll all complain about the rain and anticipate future potlucks outside in the backyard. Oh, and someone bring Summer Water. we’re going to need some cans, people.
12 Apr - It’s Easter, and according to Kris lasagne is the traditional Easter meal. Go figure. Kris has oh-so-graciously offered to host dinner at her house. Thanks Kris!
Rumor has it we may have a special guest this Sunday.
I’ll make soup and bake bread.
No ingredients needed this week, but maybe bring something to add to a salad, something to put on bread, dessert…?
march 1. I’m out. I’ll be on the beach in florida this sunday, but that shouldn’t stop you from eating! If you’d like to stop by to feed my starving husband while I am gone, feel free.
eating out is expensive. cooking food is time-consuming. eating cold leftovers alone is depressing. let’s join forces. fight rising consumer debt, manage your time more efficiently, and live a happier life with more friends! come over for a potluck dinner every thursday evening. 8:30pm. (or maybe sundays - we are still working out the details).
bring something to eat. check here each week to find out the theme for the evening. comment to tell us all what you are going to do. conspire with someone else to concoct an elaborate dish of ingredients you’ll bring. bring a dessert. bring a side. suggest a recipe and split up the ingredients list among attendees. bring bread.
rule one: wine doesn’t count. any wine contributed will be drunk or stockpiled for future dinners. but a bottle doesn’t count as your contribution to the dinner. so, bring a potato along with you just in case.
rule two: if you cannot contribute ingredients or a dish one week, you can still come and eat, but you will be ridiculed mercilessly.
rule three: nearly everyone is vegetarian, and some of us don’t like wheat or dairy. We could all stand to eat better, so leave your wheat thins, milkshakes, and t-bones at home.
what now? go read the next post and tell us if you are coming (and what you are bringing) this thursday.
